She was in the direct selling business many years before starting her own company. Her dream was to help women attain financial independence through a unique career opportunity in an ethical manner. Mary Kay opened the doors 13 September 1963 with 9 Independent Beauty Consultants.
By 1966, annual sales reached $1m, and now sales are over $2Billion in retail.
Mary Kay is in more than 30 countries on 5 continents with over 1m IBC (Independent Beauty Consultant) worldwide.
